Acceptable Use Policy
The short version
List real golf gear you own, describe it honestly, treat other members with respect, and keep payment on-platform. Counterfeits, stolen goods, and off-platform payment circumvention will get you permanently banned.
1. Account Rules
- One account per person. Shared accounts are prohibited.
- Your display name, profile photo, and any identity attestations must be truthful. Do not impersonate another person, brand, or organization.
- You must be at least 18 years old and a U.S. resident.
- You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account. Keep your credentials secure and notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access.
2. Listing Rules
- Real photos of the actual item. Primary listing photos must be photographs of the specific unit you are selling. Stock photos, manufacturer images, and photos copied from other listings are not allowed as the primary image.
- Accurate condition rating. Use the TeeBox condition scale honestly. Disclose all material defects in the description (sky marks, dents, regripped status, refinished heads, etc.).
- One item per listing unless the listing is explicitly framed as a bundle and the bundle composition is disclosed in the title and description.
- Titles must describe what is being sold. No clickbait, keyword stuffing, or unrelated brand mentions.
- Prices must be your genuine asking price. No bait-and-switch.
3. Prohibited Items
The following items may not be listed on TeeBox:
- Counterfeit or replica clubs, shafts, putters, or balls, including unauthorized reproductions of Scotty Cameron, Titleist, TaylorMade, Callaway, Ping, Mizuno, or any other brand.
- Stolen merchandise or items you do not have the legal right to sell.
- Tournament-only items not authorized for resale (player-issued prototypes, tour-only heads or shafts where the issuing tour or manufacturer prohibits resale).
- Non-conforming equipment misrepresented as USGA-conforming. Non-conforming items may be listed only if their non-conforming status is clearly disclosed in the title and description.
- Range balls and driving-range pickup balls, including range-stamped balls and bulk lots sourced from range recovery.
- Used gloves, hats, or other items with bodily-fluid contamination concerns.
- Firearms, ammunition, weapons, and any item designed primarily as a weapon.
- Items requiring age verification or licensing beyond what TeeBox supports (alcohol, tobacco, regulated chemicals, prescription items).
4. Prohibited Conduct
- No off-platform-payment circumvention. Do not solicit or accept payment via Venmo, Zelle, Cash App, PayPal Friends & Family, wire transfer, cryptocurrency, gift cards, or any other channel outside the TeeBox / Stripe checkout. This protects both parties through buyer protection and the audit trail.
- No automated bidding, sniping bots, or scripted offer activity.
- No scraping of TeeBox listings, user profiles, or pricing data. Bulk programmatic access requires written permission.
- No harassment, threats, hate speech, or doxxing directed at any TeeBox member or staff.
- No buyer extortion. Threatening negative feedback, chargebacks, or a dispute to coerce a partial refund outside the standard process is prohibited.
- No fake reviews or coordinated review manipulation, including reviews from accounts you control or accounts of friends or family who did not transact at arm's length.
- No shill bidding or fake offers used to manipulate price.
5. Messaging Rules
- No spam, mass-marketing, or unsolicited commercial messages.
- No phishing, fake-link, or credential-harvesting attempts.
- No doxxing or sharing of another member's personal information.
- Do not request or send payment information outside Stripe checkout. Do not share card numbers, bank details, or routing information over messages.
6. IP and Brand Use
- Do not upload photos taken by another seller, retailer, or manufacturer as your own listing photos.
- Do not use third-party trademarks in your display name (e.g., "Titleist Authorized Dealer" if you are not one).
- Do not impersonate brand representatives, tour pros, fitters, or anyone affiliated with a manufacturer.
- Brand owners and rights holders: see our DMCA Notice and Takedown page for the takedown and counterfeit-report process.
7. Reporting Violations
To report a violation:
- In-app: Use the Report button on the offending listing, profile, or message.
- Intellectual-property and counterfeit issues: legal@teeboxmarket.com — see our DMCA page.
- Conduct issues (harassment, fraud, off-platform solicitation): support@teeboxmarket.com.
8. Enforcement
TeeBox enforces this policy on a graduated basis:
- Warning — first low-severity violation, with a written explanation and an opportunity to cure.
- Temporary suspension — repeat or moderate-severity violations.
- Permanent termination — for repeat offenders or after suspension.
Some violations skip the graduated ladder and result in immediate permanent termination on the first occurrence, including: sale of counterfeit goods, sale of stolen merchandise, fraud, payment-circumvention schemes, and threats of violence. Termination decisions may be appealed once in writing to support@teeboxmarket.com within 14 days.
